Katrin was born in Frankfurt, Germany, and grew up in Bavaria, near Salzburg, Austria, on the German side—a region she fondly describes as "where they filmed The Sound of Music."

She earned her Master’s Degree in American and German Literature and Art Education at Goethe University in Frankfurt. Throughout her life, Katrin has pursued her passion for art, participating in numerous art classes and workshops across Austria and Germany.

During her studies in Frankfurt, Katrin spent four years with the Frankfurt Playhouse of the US Army/USO, engaging in both onstage and backstage roles. Her love for theater extended to set design, where she discovered her talent for mural work. Some of her favorite productions included Hello, Dolly, The Secret Garden, and City of Angels.

In 1997, Katrin moved to the United States and married her American sweetheart. Now a proud US citizen, she calls Tennessee home. She lives in Nashville with her husband, their two teenage sons, and two cats, fully embracing life in the South.
